This is me. A couple years out of my studies, a couple months living in a new country, a couple days into a new vocation, and awaiting the ability to pursue employment (moving to new country woes). This is where I still find myself, a couple time units later. Awaiting. So what does one turn to? Well, I can tell you this is not the first avenue to which I have turned, although it may be the most anticipated yet for myself. I have been hoping to start something like this for a few years now, hoping to cultivate a space to share my creative pursuits - mostly photography - while also encouraging my own growth and further learning of these pursuits.
For organization’s sake, this ‘heading north’ blog/collection/series acts as a wide open sandbox. As the maker of said sandbox, or supplier of the sand if you will, I can post about whatever I want. Which is pretty cool.
I suspect that I’ll mainly be writing about what interests me photographically, though other things that interest me too are fair game.
That may include various attempts at camera reviews, lens reviews, retrospectives on gear that I’ve owned, highlighting other photographers that inspire me, travel logs, photo essays, random musings on matters concerning photography, and random musings on matters not concerning photography. Maybe matters like music, literature, other mediums, and life. Essentially, a space to write, to document, and to engage my brain other than talking to myself.
Obviously, there is a lot more about me and things that I care about, however, this space isn’t oriented towards that for now. What I really wanted to do was to lay out a semi-clear roadmap of what this section of the site aims to be. If you, the audience, is out there and desire to comment on something I post, bummer. I don’t think there’s a way to add commenting to this site due to my finding every workaround to not spend extra money on hosting. However! You can email me through the contact page and I might reply. The odds are probable that I will reply. I think.
